I've had the NOS spoiler with original welting and the other spoiler with the new welting side by side on my desk all week and I'm still amazed at how nice the new stuff is. The color and gloss are nearly exact.

As an example as to the flexibility it has, I've attached a couple pics of it on a broken spoiler. Many times over the years I've had nice original spoilers that came off a car with the tip broken at one of the holes for the staple. I've never had good luck trying to glue the piece back in place. Usually the piece is small enough that the spoiler could still be used without it for anything but a concourse car but new welting wouldn't make the sharper bend and stay on the spoiler. The pictured spoiler had the tip broken off and the new welting is flexible enough to make that tight bend and still stay in place.
