To determine the correct fill level, I took a factory pan and added 5 qts of water to it. It measured 4” from the pan rail. I then took the Milodon pan and added 7 qts of water to it. That also measured 4” from the pan rail. That will put my Spotts windage tray about an inch above the oil with the engine not running. I will set my dipstick full level at the 4” mark and add whatever amount is needed to read full. I am running a remote filter and possibly an accusump so the total amount hasn’t really been determined yet.

Yup, that works, just have to take into account the amount of added fluid for filter(s) and lines. It might be slightly complicated to calculate if you don't have anti-drainback with the filter setup.

Accusump doesn't matter, as long as it's filled prior to calculating oil volume/level. (Dipstick calibration)
