Most probably never heard of Smithys but they are still out there I believe.
Think they still offer Glasspack mufflers today. Others would recognize the name but not the difference between the steel packs and glass packs in the old days and the sound difference between the two.
Yep, people started reading about Corvair Turbo mufflers, etc.
