This is why (I mentioned in another thread) I will ask auction prices when it is time to sell.
I have a friend that bought a GT500 from one of the exclusive collections at Barrett Jackson a few years ago. Another car at a shop bumped it and they pulled the front apart to fix it and found hardware store washers and bolts holding it together where you couldn’t see. Another friend bought a Pantera last year for almost $200k. It ran hot, AC didn’t work, kept dying, all kinds of issues.
The security of being able to ride in, drive and feel a car while testing everything out is what you don’t get at these auctions and honestly I will charge for it when it comes time to sell. If I don’t get what I want I can always run it through the auction….
