For a new cam & lifters you need to follow break-in procedure: you should apply the moly lube past on the cam lobes & lifters, adjust each lifter when it is on the base circle (so valves are closed), reapply moly lube after lifter adjustment, set #1 to TDC, prime your oiling system with the distributor out with a drill and priming tool to fit on the oil pump drive shaft (counterclockwise rotation), reinstall distributor to #1 with 12 degrees advance on the timing marker.
