Sorry I wasn't more specific, The mounting plate bolts to the tranny, the shifter bolts to the plate. Behind the shifter a bolt goes into a sort of recess in the plate into the tranny. The recess is there so the bolt head will be flush or slightly recessed to the plate. If the bolt head is too tall the shifter " puck " will hit it.
