I'll add you might check your block and see if it has a cast in rib between the lifters. My block had a vertical rib running between the pair of lifters and was the biggest obstacle in fitting the dog bones. In checking the pics I could find on the dog bone conversions it did not appear that those blocks had the cast in rib. Several of my dog bones were in the .070 thick range and I wasn't comfortable with them that thin.
On a good note, I have the johnson lifters installed and the pushrods are ordered and should be here tomorrow. I hope to have the valve train buttoned up this weekend and finish off the rest of the install.
If all goes well I hope to drop the motor in the chassis the week of the 11th!!!!!!
