Yeah. Not good.

These heads were from the 461 build, and are Butler 315cfm heads, and knew at some point I would need to upgrade to more flow, they were holding the power back. But, really was hoping it wouldn't be under these conditions.

The block is good, cleaned it up and can still see the hash marks on the deck.

I rocked the pistons back & forth, shining a light on the top rings, and saw no cracks, so rings are good. There are also no scratches/gouges in the walls. So dodged a bullet there.

So, I ordered a set of Butler CNC 340cfm round port E-heads, and a new intake to match. I'm going to disassemble the existing heads, and send the PAC springs, retainers, locks, and pads/cups to be used on the new heads, helping with the cost.

I spoke to Butler about the head, and yes, can be fixed with no impact to integrity, but it's done by an outside vendor, and there is a backlog.

I will send both heads to Butler, have them both checked and the one repaired, and sell them to help offset costs more. Uhg.

Anyway, mysteries solved, lessons learned, and am on the path to recovery. (Engine too!).
