Those were really .984" diameter so you opened up the pistons and the rods by .002"
difference in the wall thickness. .980 plus .002 per side got you the .984 diameter.
Buy the best pins you can afford.

Definitely. My old pins were .158" wall. Swapped those out for some Trend H13 tool steel .205" wall pins. Feel much better about those. Lol
