Maybe we're doing chit wrong but we made 735 on pump gas with a factory block recently. Another Pontiac builder was North of 900 with pump gas and an aftermarket block. Both builds used Hi-ports.
That Motortend build is 20 HP stronger than a members 455 aluminum D-port factory block build using a similar spec standard core camshaft but he was 46 CID less.
I would think maybe our Dyno was happy but all three engines were pulled on different dyno's.
