Scott, just a heads up on the tires. The Goodyears from Kelsey are a bit more expensive than the Firestones from Coker (which by the way are now available through Summit for even less!). I bought a set of the Goodyears through Rusty on a group purchase and it ended up costing me about the same as the Firestones through Coker.
Also, I do seem to get just a bit more bite with the Goodyears and their tread is just a touch wider on a G70-14, at least on the sets that I have here.
I'd be glad to lend you a set to go racing, but I don't think CT is on your way to any of the races.
