Apart from quicker steering, the main thing I've noticed is the much increased effort required to turn the wheel. Don't get me wrong, it's still 'power steering' and I can still 'palm' the wheel when turning, but it's a lot heavier than the old steering box. Has anyone else had a similar issue and as this a new part, rather than reconditioned, is it likely to have a break in period and loosen up with some miles? Btw, I thoroughly flushed the pump and lines before filling it with fresh fluid.
You installed the part# 10972 box. Is that correct? Thanks for your reply. Just wanted to be sure that I order the same unit.
