All I pretty much run is 26" tires, and the one car has 373s. So I can't see how a tire can be too 'short' for any ratio, unless maybe you aren't running an OD.

I'm with Tom on this one, I too feel if the mech linkage is good and in working order, there's no big reason to change.

But, I will say, that the older retro hyd throw out bearings had issues. The newer ones are way better. Also, with the T56, the hyd throw out bearings and packaging is designed to work together. Lots of OE engineering in that setup. And in square bodies, the pedals, slaves, etc fit very nicely.

HYD is a different feel, but if you don't mind new cars and the way they feel, you will be fine with the retrofit. I personally prefer the mechanical feel, it part of the experience IMO.
