I run braided line for the trans lines on a th400 with AN fittings, used the AN fittings for the radiator & trans from summit or fragola and braided line that says its rated for all auto fluids including ATF & oil, no leaking or signs of seepage anywhere after 7+ years... have friends that do this for 10-15 years with no problems and seen it on many cars at the drag strip & car shows.
I ran them to be as far away from the headers as possible, running up & over the wheel well on a 2nd gen bird, have seen them tucked behind the fender as they go over the wheel well too. Where they connect to the trans they do cross over the bottom collector area but i wrap them with heat wrap for added protection from heat & always carry a fire extinguisher in the car for any possible problems with ATF, fuel or electrical.
