If Speedmaster/China would have spent less time copying the engraved name and a little more time making a part that actually worked, none of this would have likely come to light. Every part they market is a poor knock-off of a proven design engineered and tested by another company, mostly in the USA. They make a "facsimile" of that part and market it at 70-75% of the cost of the real part. That's the business model. Until they stole the guys name, it worked well for them. When my student's buy Speedmaster parts, 95% of them need some attention before they will fit or function. 50% need extensive modification to work. About 30% have to be returned.
