Being ignorant of this topic, I went clicking and stumbled on this bead former made by Graham:

Looks like a nice tool but not inexpensive.
Maybe there are more budget-friendly knock-offs? Or maybe you could find a local shop, like a hose fabricator, with a commercial version that could do it for you?
I'd be trying b-man's approach on my budget.
