Barring seeing specific references in Pontiac assembly manuals I would suggest 7-8 o clock for the RH side and similarly 4-5 o clock on the LH side.
That's where we placed the cranks on truck products, the thinking being that was the best position to get that last bit of thrust for seating the window into the frame when rolling it up.
