Default ‘70 TA alternator install

I picked up an rebuilt open-faced alternator over the summer and finally got around to trying to install it this weekend. Granted, my 400 RA3 engine is out for a stroker build and am currently running a ‘69 428, but it has all the correct brackets from my ‘70. When I first tried to install it, the bolt ‘ears’ were 180 degrees off, so I clocked it 180 degrees. Then I noticed that the rear bracket (attached to water neck and first manifold bolt) would not line up with the threaded hole in the back. I clocked it another 90 degrees, but now the plug is on the side, not the top, and I don’t think it’s correct.

Interestingly, the ‘70 Firebird Supplement has a drawing of the alternating that looks just like mine, but I don’t see how to attach the rear bolt with the plug on top of alternator.

Here is the shot of the rear of the alternator (one on left is open-faced)
