Those little bumps at the ends are a puzzle. Have never heard any explanation for them. And can't see any benefit to them either. Showed up I think 1960 when the reverse cooling was gone and there shouldn't have been any connection. And disappeared maybe 1967 or possibly whenever the paint color changed to the metallic blue.
