Yep, you were right. Just replace it. It started acting up again just a few days later. I found that a vacuum release switch for a 1982-1983 firebird (SMP-SLS234) worked just fine in its place and is readily available. It just adds an electrical connection that I'm guessing is to cut power to a TCC solenoid when you step on the brake? It still fits fine though. Thanks!
