I also never had a problem with 72 and earlier pans clearing, but not worth the time and effort to get them cleaned up.

Unless the build requires the later Tomahawk pan for looking correct, the early pan with the PCV in the rear is a much nicer and better fitting unit. If you look on the Butler site the 61-67 valley pan has the cutouts to clear the intake manifold ports while the later does not. It takes considerable more work getting the later pan to clear.
