This is a Very True Reason why the Technology of a lot of these different environmental ideas is such a "slow starter".
We want to make money so we sell cars and trucks to a Oxen & Cart society and then we complain when the people "run" with the idea and the Emissions levels of the country go crazy. (Example China).
At one time only the very rich had cars or Trucks (in the case of the military or very wealthy companies).
Same concept as the Ford Model A vs the Ford GT-40 Race Car. We are constantly shooting ourselves in the Foot, Butt, etc.
