The collar for my TATA was in pretty bad shape. I sanded it down to bare with a medium then fine roloc on my Milw. battery powered angle die grinder. Took about 15 min to do that. I recall reading on a previous post that the part is best heated before painting. So, I placed it on my shop furnace for about 10 minutes. I was too lazy to get the temp gun out of the kitchen but it was just hot enough to touch. Used VHT wrinkle paint, sprayed it on in a couple of directions, fairly heavy but not too heavy that it runs. Let it sit overnight and the results were fantastic. Compared to the few originals I have there is hardly any difference. Now once I get my SEM I can put colour to it.
