kris, i will tell you that on my mild 405, with stock crank, rods, and speed pro flat tops, 1st gen e-heads and victor, 255/262 solid f.t. cam, my motor didnt show that big of an improvement on the dyno going from 93/110 mix gas hp carb to my 750 kjp methanol 4150, it made 496 ish hp and less than 500 ft lbs on gas, and 523 on alcohol with still under 500 ft lbs. i figured the torque would be where the big gain was, but it hardly moved and the hp went up around 25hp. fast forward to putting it in the car on gas, it felt like a lazy pig. it wouldnt hardly turn the 275's over on the street, i did nothing but swap carbs and fuel, and it was crisp and skating all over the place. I wouldve swore it was a completely different engine. I'll admit, it was running rich on gas which contributed to it being lazy, but i picked up 4 tenths in the 1/8th mile by changing carb and fuel. its amazing how things react in real world tests vs the dyno.
