After a bunch of research on it, I came to the conclusion it probably isn't worth filling the exhaust manifold to separate it. It takes a few quarts of fairly expensive ceramic filler, or you could use aluminum if you have a good source of aluminum stock and can pour it. For what it takes, look for some headers. The exhaust flapper can either be wire tied open or I removed it and tapped the rod holes and put bolts in them.
