I had seen some speculative posts several years ago.
Do you have any paperwork to prove it was used in the movie (and to what extent - as I'd wager several were outfitted the same and used in different roles)?
The opening sequence in that movie made it an instant classic;

There were rumors of three cars, but in fact only two.
I've had lunch with the owner that provided them at the time; I learn more each time I speak with him. I was trying to meet up earlier again last week but my schedule has been crazy and constantly changing.
It appeared quite a bit. Kind of depended on what would run at the time, as it was August in TX and everything wanted to vapor lock. This one was a 4 speed and was stalled quite a bit by the actors. For most interior scenes it was just strapped to a trailer.
I do have documentation on it. Actually, both cars shared the same movie contract and insurance policy...
