49 DeSoto 4 dr. 3-on-the-tree: $20 in 1975. Nothing special, but reliable transportation for a poor college student.
66 Chevelle SS396 4 speed convertible, 3.90 posi: $40 in 1976. Had to keep and eye on the oil level.
74 Grand Am 4 speed: $3000 + 66 Chevelle in 1978.
70 Dodge T/A Challenger 340 tri-power auto: $1300 in 1979.

Had I kept the Chevelle and the Challenger, I'd have cars worth some money now. Back then they were just used cars. When premium gas went away, people were unloading them. People knew the rare cars (RAIV, Hemi, 427, etc.) were special and they commanded premium prices even back then.
