My '57 GMC V8 lower connection starting at the radiator consists of a straight piece of hose, a metallic (copper colored) 90 degree L with a nipple on it that the return line from the heater attaches to, and another straight piece of hose that attaches to the input side of the timing cover.
Pretty sure it is stock.
