norton, Thank You. It's just sitting on the stand under it's own weight. It's on little rubber pads on the oil pan flange. Very stable, I was able to torque all the clutch, flywheel, and tranny bolts on it. It rolls very easy. I have a slight slant in my floor, and it will take off on me. I always had to set the brakes. Yeah, I was able to mount the shifter on it and check all linkage adjustments without anything in my way. The paint is from Hirsch Automotive, 74 - 77 Pontiac Met. Blue high gloss. It matched the factory paint perfectly. In the one attached picture the valve covers are the factory paint from 76. Motor is in the car now.
