TR, sorry I hadn't had a chance to reply sooner. Will's got it pretty much covered though. The 2041 works pretty well. When I purchased my '76 it had a stock-rebuilt 462 with 70 #15's. Compression was a real 10.0 to 10.25:1 and it had a Comp 268H cam. It ran well but pinged with a moderate advance curve, so we had to run it retarded. I then installed the 2041, lost no power whatsoever, picked up a ton of drivability, and had no more detonation related issues with a normal advance curve. I think you'll be pleased with the 2041 in your Goat, especially with the 3.55 gears and a manual trans.
