On putting the pistons on backward, If you move
the rod and piston to the other side of the engine the rod will now be installed correctly for the journal chamfer, the piston will be facing
the correct way and the only issue will be the number you stamped on the rod will be on the opposite bank. (NO BIG DEAL). Have seen machine
shops screw this up many times as Pontiac Number 1 cylinder is not farthest forward on the crank, number 2 is. Hope this saves someone from having
to dismount pressed pistons in the future.
