Update - I talked with Jim Butler today about the gaskets. We are talking about the 400/455 gaskets made from the orig GM pattern, with the water holes reduced in size to better match the block holes and give more strength to the sealing area.
They do overhang slightly at .060, with my bore being .065 it was even more noticeable. Jim says people have been using them for years successfully with the .060 overbore. I feel uncomfortable with the amount of projection and will use 1016's. I worry about the seal with part of the ring overhanging, and the posibility of detonation from the "tin" in the combustion chamber. BTW, the bore diam of the gasket appears to be 4.20, so for bores under this, it should be fine...... Bill ... It's good to hear we have some other choices for the larger bores, THX!!
