Ok so your build sheet has "TAG SHOW ATT J BLACK" on the comments section? Usually Pontiac MI build sheets have "TAG" signed across them in pen/marker. Maybe we can finally find out what TAG is.

They list them as being a bit shorter than the originals by 1/8" I think. So you would have a bigger gap than a pair of originals. Also when they light up, they tend to be a pink-ish color rather...

Looks like you did a test strip there from the cans from Ames. I know you are trying to make the car all correct so maybe double check that engine paint. Ames lists the paint as N182T for your 71 but...

From what I understand, the 71-74 (and maybe other later years) alternator brackets are black zinc plated. That looks pretty close.
