They are unsafe if you drop off a steep shoulder on the road. They will contact the road and could cause a wreck. That being said, they sure had a good old school look, back in the day.

Change the oil pump also while your at it. Two barrel 400 uses a 5/8 pickup compared to a 3/4 pickup on the four barrel engines.

HIT 290-2-NC, .050 Duration is 234 int and 244 ex. Lift is 485 int and 505 ex. on a 112 LSA. Nice cam, one of the old Fireball grinds. Very rowdy in a 400 but perfect for a 455.

On the top where there isnt a threaded hole, just turn your long bolt around and run it through backwards and add a nut to the radiator side. It will hold fine and all the other holes should line up...
