Long ago Dan Whitmore told me the Pontiac V8 and the small block Mopar had the same oiling system. So he used information that came from the Mopar circle track guys who raced them back in the day....

Did the OP not spin his crank when torqued down ? There is a lot missing from this story. Plugs with closed gaps...
