Cool....I may give that reproduction a try. I've also been looking for someone that can restore the originals. Mine is in pretty good shape but just looks a little shabby with everything else done.

I went with the Crower Enduro stainless steel...

I went with the Crower Enduro stainless steel rollers and used the thicker gaskets, but my builder says they would have still cleared with the standard thickness.

I think the original part number was 40838 and...

I think the original part number was 40838 and then was superseded by 40959 . I believe both are correct. The link I provided earlier seems like a good option or just search for either part number...

Here is some info. This is from the '70 Fisher Service Manual....The '70 Assembly Manual gives a little tighter tolerances for some dimensions.

Yup, It Goes Under...

Here's a view that clearly shows those clips going on the two lower transmission bolts, just as some have stated. I couldn't find them available anywhere, but I guess it wouldn't be too hard to make...

Thanks for posting that. It's still not 100% clear to me, but it does seem it may go under. I don't think that cutaway view really shows enough of the trans.

Yup, the black plastic piece....although, I think the 1970 part actually goes over rather than under the bright trim.......at least it looks that way.

1970 Lower Windshield Trim

Can someone please verify if the lower windshield trim pieces for our 70's are a mirror of each other?
I only have the left side that is in decent shape and want to model them.

I had Python Restoration do all the belts for my Bright Blue interior a year or so ago. They used the blue elastic. Maybe they will just sell you some?

Window Glass Hardware Question ???

Anyone know for sure, how tight the fittings should be that hold the window rollers and mounting studs to the glass? I found the torque spec for the lower sash cam to window stud listed at 72 inch...

I didn't have to trim them at all. They were basically the same height as my originals, just not deformed from years of use. I think they are supposed to sit a little proud of the base of the bracket...
