The T/A in McQ wasn't a 70, it was a Brewster Green 73 with a D-port 455 and no hood bird.

According to the BF Goodrich website their 255/60/15 Radial T/A is recommended for rim sizes from 7 to 9 inches... so you'll be absolutely fine running a 255/60 on a 7" rim. I've run them on 15x7"...

As Quick-Silver said, in 81 the choices were 301, 301-turbo, or 305 Chevy.

Naw... 255/60s won't rub on the back at all... plenty of room. You don't really have to worry about rubbing out back until you get some 295s on there... and then only some have rubbing issues......

Go with the 255/60/15s... as mentioned ealier they are very, very close to the original ride height (27.04" for the 255/60s vs. 27.4" for the 225/70s). They look like a natural on these cars......

No, there's no way to tell by the VIN. Machos were an aftermarket tuner car built by DKM, Inc... as such the factory had nothing to do with them.

I do know that they didn't make too many 301T...
