Something else to check: transmission module...

Something else to check:
transmission module vacuum line to the carb. Make sure it is connected, and no vacuum leaks.
Ive had this similar problem.

Most 70 F Bodies had their rear view mirrors changed buy the time any us us were buying them. Even in the mid 70s. It was a poor design, It was known to sag. You could only tighten the screws so much...
