Yup, that's why I posted the article. LS3 MAST heads flow 314 at .700 lift, which is noted in that link. They cost more than Butler 340+ heads. The conversation revolved around cost and flow.

It's totally the norm, which is why I don't buy onto the LS lifter conversion for Pontiacs. All you have to do is Google 'LS lifter noise' or do a search on YouTube, and you will see how normal it...

Not true. Stock LS heads flow 244/206, and that's at .700 lift. Even the bigger, performance heads only flow like 305, and that's doctored.

If I hear one more LS swap guy cry about noisy lifters, I will puke. That's how many there are. And even if you get a warranty, you still have to do the work. It gets old after the 3rd or 4th one....

Now that's a better comparison, but the GM crate engines do have issues, lots a folks around me have complained about them. The non-LS ones too. But that's still a good baseline.

Again, you are not building an LS from the ground up, so it's not apples to apples. I remember when 455s were in the boneyards for around the same cost. So you can't compare a boneyard engine build...
