Since mine are galvanized (according to the Parts Place) and I don't want paint to flake off like factory, I'm thinking it might make sense to spray the straps with...

I've searched the forum for related threads and there doesn't seem to be a consensus on whether the gas tank straps on a 1970 GTO are painted black or are unfinished.

I picked up this set...
