That was mine. I even put muriatic acid the pad with no luck of the vin surfacing. I wasn't able to locate a vin stamp on the trans either. Dates on everything lined up with the car.

When I bought my '73 the passenger fender bird...

When I bought my '73 the passenger fender bird was missing the plastic inlay. I bought an NOS one and installed it a few years ago. Now the NOS one is falling apart.. :(
