I would run a set of KRE heads at 10.5...

I would run a set of KRE heads at 10.5 compression and stick to a mild cam and you will get 20mpg plus.

I've mounted mine on the front intake manifold...

I've mounted mine on the front intake manifold bolt on the passenger side for years with no issues. I like it close to the carb.
