Courtesy lights miswired? IIRC the courtesy lights have an orange and white wires. The orange goes to fused power and the white to the door switch circuit.

yep, 1 filament is probably brighter than the other, but as mentioned the bulb and socket side pins are staggered so the bulb only goes in one way. BTW, I have either never seen a socket like that or...

My thinking is oilite bushings may be a bit soft to withstand the force in the clutch linkage system. A steel bushing would be better to reduce wear in the Z-bar and rod.
