Yep, so if you were running a 1.60 60 foot, you aren't shifting until close to a full second past the 60 foot mark. At the speeds that car moves a full second is pretty far out there past the 60.

Shouldn't even be close.

That's only a 10.25 effective ratio. You'll need more than that to make 1st gear shorter than 60 feet.

Do the 428 with the 670 heads. You'll be buying pistons either way you go so simply adjust the compression with the piston choice and run with it. A good cam choice and it'll be fine on pump gas.

Tremec 5-speed all the way. I wouldn't even consider putting another muncie in the car. Leave the 3.90 gear in the car and enjoy no loss in acceleration and comfy cruising on the highway. You'll...

The .64 looks like the better choice with good highway rpm cruising.

The .82 you'd have to spin 2800 rpm on the highway just to barely reach the speed limit out here, 75 mph. That's going to be...

With 3.23's it would likely be a 7 tooth drive gear. No way to know for sure without physically putting eyes on it but I don't typically see M-20's with a 6 tooth drive gear, which is used with...

That's how I did it. Basically the power wires exit the unit towards the passenger side of the firewall and run towards the battery on that side of the car, hidden in the inner fender.

The signal...

Are you talking speedo gears?

They had various versions. Problem with the M-20's and some M-21's is that they had 2 different diameter drive gears depending on the output shaft, and the smaller...

Todays pump gas isn't going to like 200 degree engine temps with 6 lbs. of fuel pressure for a carb.

We've talked about this in depth before when the subject comes up.

No sense in worrying...

I've enjoyed this part of it as well. We are the type with the desire to fine tune everything. The Snipers do the same if one bothers to hook up the laptop and dig into all the tuning features. ...
