On my pump I made a jig and tested it, 67 lbs....

On my pump I made a jig and tested it, 67 lbs. That was with 30 WT Dello.
On the engine I primed it with Brad Penn 30 WT break in oil and I put about 2/3 qt of Lucas in it.
Pressure was instant...

You have to shim it if you pull out your 5/8"...

You have to shim it if you pull out your 5/8" check ball and install a 9/16" ball.

I just tested my oil pump with 9/16 ball and...

I just tested my oil pump with 9/16 ball and .073" of shims behind 60lb spring. With 30WT and a 500RPM drill it went right to 67 lbs and settled in at 65 lbs.
Made a jig out of some 1" keystock....

What thickness shim do most guys run behind the spring when they drop to 9/16" check ball in oil pump ? .070 about right ?
