Question Painting chrome

Anyone seen the show muscle car on the powerblock? They were painting the chrome on some rims with paint.....Any one know or remember what the procedure and products they used was????:confused:

My 69 was painted 16 years ago....I've never had hood insulation in it, nor have I had any paint or other issues with it.....IMO go naked!!!

Looking for the black light bulb sockets in the back of a instrument cluster.
