The repop arms I got a few years ago were horrible. Sent them back. Ball joint angle was all wrong, metal was thinner, very little reinforcing around the ball joint. Ended up restoring my originals...

I don't think my 68 with AC ever overheated, plenty of 90 degree weather, seldom saw 100+ .. but then sitting on blacktop on any sunny 90 degree day is probably going to mean 100+ degree air temps.

I have seen MC with a retainer screw that goes down from the reservoir into the cylinder bore that retains internals ... don't think I've ever seen one on a GM, but they do exist on other types of MC...

Yep ... I'd swap bulbs from inner to outer to see if the problem follows the bulb.

The original sockets get pretty hinkey after five decades, sometimes you can stuff a bulb in there the wrong way...

Although after using this very expensive little tube of stuff ... seems to me any decent, black, urethane seam sealer would do the same job for MUCH less...

Picture below was taken in 1976. My 68 Lemans parts car (May Baltimore) also had white lettering. Both had the short prong on the back.

Seemed to look all the same after it's filtered through that thick plastic lens. Actually the lens age and yellowing seems to control the color more than the bulb.
