So there must be a dimple/filled hole on my cars....

So there must be a dimple/filled hole on my cars. If I understand correctly, the clip is outside of the molding, and I can just attach these now with the molding in place.

I saw these clips in the Ames catalog and they intrigued me, as I have never seen them on a car, so I bought them. Can anyone tell me where they go? The trim on my two cars seems to be held...
