Thanks again but the answer is no. Theres no loose wires anywhere. The kickdown wire is used to feed the washer bottle pump. Its the wierd goings on at the fuse that I struggle to understand.

Thanks for the reply Johnta. Yes my car is a 1969 firebird 400 auto. It is far from stock though. The wiring has mostly been untouched from factory. I'll re do my previous post in short form....

UK Street Weekend 2024

I competed in the UK street weekend with the 'Tin Indian' firebird convertible. 2 race tracks 200 miles apart. no support vehicle, but a bunch of racecars and petrol heads doing the same.

Is it a singe fan? What size is the fuse? Those fans will take 40 amps to start so need at least that size fuse.
