When you jump start the car where do you put the jumper ground cable? Maybe your battery ground to the engine is dirty/rusty. Remove the cable from the engine and clean the connection. Worth a try....

I have done it several times and used the original block. If you use the 1967 block you do get the added benefit of the warning light. I just didn't want the extra work.

I have seen just the opposite over the years. If there was the slightest nick in a solid float it would soak up gas. It was if the smooth outside sealed the float.

I think what he has is an old after market horn relay. My grandson bought a 1964 GP with one. Instead of the metal cover it has a black plastic one.

The only problem I can see is if the washer is too thick it might throw off panel alignment. A body man could tell you if it will made any difference. Could you weld the washer inside the frame?

There is a lower patch panel that runs about the length of the quarter. I haven't tried one but I have heard mixed results. If you want to try one you can find it online for about $300.
